Gyasu Bajracharya

About Me

Hi! I'm Gyasu, a PhD candidate in Biophysics at UCSF, advised by Dr. Tony Capra, where I work at the intersection of machine learning and biology. My current research focuses on understanding what protein language models learn about biology. I also develop deep learning and statistical methods to predict the effects of genetic variation for disease research and therapeutic protein engineering.

Outside of research, I enjoy making music, working out, playing tennis and chess, and watching Manchester United (painfully) and Formula 1. I’ll (hopefully) post about these interests here, too.

I'm always happy to connect, collaborate, or help however I can!
